Yvette currently serves as the Chair of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Trails Advisory Board, on the board of directors of the Indiana Trail Riders Association and as the President of the Hoosier Back Country Horsemen of West Central Indiana. She is a certified trail crew specialist on trail design and maintenance, a certified Class A Sawyer through the USDA Forest Service, a Trail Trainer through Tread Lightly and a Leave No Trace Master Educator with Stock Use.
Yvette is a lifetime member of the Indiana Horse Council, the Greenways Foundation, Best of America by Horseback and the Indiana Trail Riders Association and a charter member of the American Quarter Horse Association Trail Riding Program and the Red Hats & Purple Chaps. Yvette was recently awarded the Marjorie Van Ness Award 2015 from the American Horse Council. The Van Ness Award is presented annually to an individual who has shown leadership and service to the horse community in his or her state. As an adventurous trail rider, she enjoys finding out what is on the other side of the next ridge and taking her grandchildren on trail rides with the hope that they will carry on the tradition of promoting and protecting the trails that remain.
